Who are we

The Hong Kong Special Care Dentistry Association Limited was formed in 2013 by a group of individuals who are concerned about those deprived of dental care because of their special needs situations.  Our members are composed of dental practitioners, social workers and business-persons, parents and those who care about those who need special care dentistry.

Our Vision
  • To build a community with Special Care Dentistry (SCD) for the needy in Hong Kong and its neighbouring region
Our Mission
  • To promote SCD to the dental and health professionals, allied health professionals and the community
  • ​To serve the community requiring SCD
  • ​​To facilitate the establishment of the specialty of SCD in Hong Kong
Our Objectives
  • To promote the awareness and understanding of SCD among the dental and health professionals, allied health professionals and the community
  • ​​To provide education and training of SCD to the dental and health professionals and allied health professionals
  • ​​To foster and support evidence-based practice in SCD
  • To provide patient-centred holistic care to the community requiring SCD
  • To collaborate with local and overseas professional bodies for professional advancement toward the specialty of SCD
