The Hong Kong Special Care Dentistry Association Limited was formed in 2013 by a group of individuals who are concerned about those deprived of dental care because of their special needs situations.  Our members are composed of dental practitioners, social workers and business-persons, patients’ parents and those who care about the people in need of special care dentistry.

• To promote and build a community with a concern about special care dentistry for people with special needs.

• To be a professional society who lead and work with a community of stakeholders in promoting awareness in special care dentistry towards the improvement of oral health and dental care in specialist standards for the persons with all forms of disabilities

• To promote the awareness and understanding of SCD among the dental and health professionals, allied health professionals and the community
• ​​To provide education and training of SCD to the dental and health professionals and allied health professionals
• ​​To foster and support evidence-based practice in SCD
• To provide patient-centred holistic care to the community requiring SCD
• To collaborate with local and overseas professional bodies for professional advancement towards the specialty of SCD
